Field Trip #25 More pics: here and here!!!

On friday me, Mya, Karyn, Natalie, and her boyfriend Steve went on a field trip to Poco (Port Coquitlam for you non-vancouver people). I get on the Skytrain, and I see Nat! I usually see a lot of people I know on the skytrain so it didn't really surprise me. So we go down to Braid station and wait there for a while. We waited for Mya and everyone else to come, and boredom claimed victory over my sanity while I did stupid things like play key hockey with my keys and climb the walls.

FINALLY Mya showed up! Then Steve and Karyn showed up in Steve's expensive-looking car, and we piled in the back. Somehow I got stuck in the middle, and there wasn't exactly a middle seat! I now have another PERMANENT DENT IN MY ASS from sitting on something really pointy, and with my luck I was surprised it didn't start vibrating.

We get to the place that the show is supposed to be at, and notice that it looked WAY too nice. Like, nice enough that you'd be afraid to mosh in there without breaking something or bleeding all over stuff! We got slurpees, I "Miked" mine ethough (to mike - a verb meaning to buy some food, eat a tiny bit of it and not eat the rest) and we sat down on some sidewalk thingy and took stupid pictures and stuff.

When the show started we go in and the first band that played really sucked. I don't even remember the name of it, not that I really want to, but if you wanna know what they sounded like, imagine someone beating a fat guy in the head with an electric guitar and you got it. We just hung around at the back of the crowd, Mya and Karyn chained themselves to each other, Nat and Steve were pretty much already attatched to each other the entire time, and I was busy getting chased and getting my ass kicked in by Mya. Jolly good fun! Anyways here are my reviews of the bands we saw playing:

Mass Undergoe: These guys easily kicked the shit out of every other band that played that night. They put up one motherfucking kickass performance, the lead singer David Isbister (he went to my old high school LA Matheson) was so into it, just totally acting wild and jumping around on stage and shit. Mya did her evil puppy-dog-eyes mind control trick and got me and Karyn to stand right in front of the stage next to the speakers, and never have my ears bled so fucking good! The bassist (Marino Mestrovic, hope I spelled that right) also went to my school, I was in a few classes with him!

Definition: They were just damn awesome, I say. I'm definitely glad I came to this show after seeing these guys!!!

1ns1p1d: FUCKING AMAZING. Words can't describe how much these guys rock, you must see them for yourself. They played a System of a Down cover, Aerials, very nicely, I was totally impressed. It was pretty funny how the bassist kept throwing his water bottles into the crowd, getting people wet in the process and nearly hitting one guy in the head. Good stuff!

I didn't jump into any mosh pits or anything, but I still got my fair share of bruises from Nat kicking me across the floor. When the show was over, so was our ability to hear anything. You see, standing 2 feet from the speakers the entire time isn't too good for your hearing. I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that the most popular word after the show was "what?".

Steve dropped me and Mya off at Braid Station, and going halfway up the stairs Mya remembered that she forgot to give Karyn her tie back!! It was that tie with the special power that makes boobs look bigger! Don't ask. Anyways we took pictures of each other while the old people beside us scratched themselves in a disgusting manner, and I get off on Columbia to catch a train back to my house!

And on that train I run into the Pheends guys!! Mike and Kevin had gone to the Hatebreed concert, and surprisingly enough they weren't bleeding too badly. They had a kickass time too, some guy lost a tooth on the back of Mike's head which means that it was one hell of a concert! Then I found out that the website of the local band Marlinspike was using photos from our site, gee thanks for giving us credit guys! But they sure kicked ass at that other show we went to so it's all good!

3 more days till I'm going to Greece!
